To celebrate “20 years of magic,” Chukkers for Charity welcomed guests to the Emerald City for the annual polo match and car show. Phillipe Chadwick and Troy Marden — led by co-chairs Lexie Armstrong, Cathy Brown and Margaret Orthwein — transformed the patrons tent into an Oz-inspired spectacle for this lively outdoor fundraiser for Rochelle Center and Saddle Up.
Flying monkeys hung from the ceiling while a vintage bicycle, its basket filled with sunflowers, was suspended above the crowd. Burlap table runners, topped with whimsical centerpieces of fresh flowers, were held in place by yellow bricks. Staff and volunteers from the two nonprofits sported Wizard of Oz costumes, and even two of Saddle Up’s miniature horses joined in on the fun. Webster’s white coat was dyed pink and blue to turn him into a Horse of a Different Color while Sherman sported wings and a blue brimless cap just like the Wicked Witch’s winged minions.
