StyleBlueprint: What to Wear in Nashville This Month

by

Annie is StyleBlueprint Nashville’s lead writer and associate editor. When she isn’t scoping out Nashville’s newest hangs, you can find her teaching CycleBar classes on Charlotte or eating queso at her neighborhood Mexican spot.

September brings with it hopes of cooler temperatures and the promise of fun events. We kick off the month at Chukkers for Charity, eat and drink with the animals at Nashville Zoo’s Sunset Safari and cap things off by sampling more than 150 beers at the Nashville Brew Fest. Plus, this month, we’re styling both the gals AND the guys, so be sure to pass these style suggestions along to anyone who needs a little inspiration.

The fabulous Cynthia Kelley is here to offer her expertise around dressing for the occasion and tapping into fall’s hottest trends. She dressed the co-chairs of Chukkers for Charity, Nina Lindley and Matt Paco, and we explored the breathtaking grounds of Riverview Farm, stopping to pet the horses and pups and to admire the lovely surroundings.

Enjoy these fabulous looks from Oak Hall and Johnston & Murphy for some of Nashville’s top September events!

Each year, Chukkers for Charity Polo Match & Classic Car Show raises money for two benevolent Nashville charities. Saddle Up is a therapeutic riding facility that offers equine-based programs for children with disabilities. The Rochelle Center offers support to adults who have developmental disabilities through their numerous programs, including day programs and community-based living. To date, Chukkers for Charity has raised more than $3.3 million for these two organizations and hopes to significantly boost that number this year. On September 7, corral your friends and family, pack a picnic and head to picturesque Riverview Farm for a day of late-summer fun.

What to wear: For what will likely be a toasty day in Nashville, opt for lighter colors and breathable fabrics. For the gals, we love a sleeveless shift dress in a fun color. Bring along a scarf or shawl in case it cools down or to shield your shoulders from the sun. For the guys, don a jacket, maybe with a subtle pattern to add some flair, and your most festive bowtie.
