Magnolia Blushes: Horses and Horsepower at the Chukkers for Charity Polo Match

This weekend we attended the Chukkers for Charity polo match and classic car show at Riverview Farm in Franklin, TN and it couldn’t have been more fun! While there are more expensive tables, tents, and tailgating tickets available for purchase, the general admission is only $20 and all proceeds go to benefit two very worthy Nashville charities, The Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!.

Not only did we get to take an up close look at the classic cars, but we also participated in the time-honored tradition of “stomping the divots.” If your like me you may know exactly what that is, not because you are a polo aficionado but because it is something Julia Roberts did in the movie Pretty Woman. While pushing torn up pieces of grass and turf back into the ground may sound like a landscaping task, it is fun and helps make the playing field safe for the horses.
